Re-Warming & Tests
I first wanted to thank everyone for their amazing love and support for our family during this time. We have truly been filled with peace that passes understanding and our hearts and minds are being guarded by Christ. Your prayers have yielded such amazing results in our lives already.
William is currently undergoing cooling therapy to preserve his remaining brain function, he is also currently under some light sedation. Tomorrow we are planning on beginning a re-warming process in which William will be brought back to normal body temperature, during this time we also plan to remove the sedation. We will see William’s true current condition without any exterior forces suppressing his brain activity. This process, along with some tests will give us a better idea of the damage that Williams brain has suffered.
We are eager to see William without sedation and we are hopeful that there will be some signs of consciousness, we truly don’t know what to expect. However, we have been told not to expect much. William is still in a very bad condition and it is very possible that after the rewarming process and without sedation that he will remain much the same. We are so thankful to God that he has given doctors the wisdom to create the cooling therapy that prevented any further damage.
After getting the results of all of these changes and tests we will be faced with decisions as to Williams future care. In the light of all this we are so grateful that the Lord has provided stories of hope and healing for children similar to William. One of theses stories of healing and recovery is about a sweet little girl similar to William. After the same re-warming and tests she was given a prognosis of zero hope of improvement and the doctors recommended that her parents remove her life support and let her go.
We are filled with hope and joy that no matter what the results of tomorrows tests are it will be good. Whether there is hope for a future recovery like the story I mentioned or not we know that God promises us in His word that “all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose.” (Romans 8:28) Tomorrow truly something good will happen, no mater what.
Please be praying
That we would be filled with peace and joy and trust in God’s perfect plan for William
That we would continue to be filled with strenght and hope to fight for William
That we would not let our hearts be carried away with our own dreams and plans about the future of Williams health
Thank you so much,
Eli & Mollie
